Heart Commitment

Weighing heart commitment to God

When we commit ourselves to God with all of our heart, we will experience Him because the commitment is different. There is a kind of external commitment that people might observe - whether or not it is truly a heart commitment. There is another kind of commitment, which is demonstrated by an individual who moves God. Moving God depends on the kind of commitment. For instance, though Jesus was surrounded by a crowd of people, He only felt virtue leaving His body when the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of His garment.

There is a different kind of commitment we need to have in order to move God. When we have a desire for the things of God, His presence shows up. When Jesus cursed the fig tree, within twenty-four hours it withered from its roots because He found it without fruit. When we produce fruit from the Word of God, we are like a tree planted by the riverside whose leaves are ever green. Jesus makes everything possible. The problem solver in you is Jesus--and the Word of God in your spirit.

When we commit ourselves, we need to listen to the voice of God. At times, we even as committed children of God, we miss it because we do not take personal inventory. Let us identify what God has deposited in us. Let us be aware when He speaks to us. Let us meditate day and night to build up our faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6) We should no let our minds be weakened by operating daily without God. God responds to faith. Let us read the word of God out loud-because the battlefield of the devil is in the human mind.
